Abstract

This study aims to identify plant species that serve as food sources (nectar and pollen) for Apis dorsata honey bees and to determine their diversity based on their habitus in the Jabranti Block, Gunung Tilu Forest, Kuningan Regency. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method with field observation techniques through surveys. Sampling was carried out using a systematic grid line method, with 56 sample plots within a bee home range of approximately 350 meters from the nest site. The research results showed that of the 75 plant species found, 38 (50.66%) were identified as honeybee forage plants, consisting of forestry, agricultural, shrub, and herbaceous plants. Of these 38 species, 9 are nectar producers, 11 are pollen producers, and 18 produce both nectar and pollen. The plant with the highest Importance Value Index (IVI) at the pole growth stage was Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica) with a value of 156.5. Based on vegetation data analysis, the Diversity Index (H') was 2.50, indicating a moderate level of diversity. The Abundance Index (e) of 0.69 indicates a relatively even distribution of individuals among species, and the Dominance Index (ID) of 0.18 indicates a low category, meaning no particular species dominates the area. Overall, the vegetation conditions in the Jabranti Block are able to support the natural survival of forest honeybee colonies.
