Abstract

Lichens play an ecological role in maintaining ecosystems, especially in tropical rainforest. These plants are divided into three main groups : namely liverwoets, hornworst, and true lichens. The purpose of this research is to determine the diversity of lichens at various altitudes (1000 masl-1300 masl) at Karangsari Reseach Station. This reseach used exploration method and purposive sampling technique with 2x2 plot size. They result of the study obtained 249 individuals of moss plants, and identified as many as 20 species, 15 tribes, 18 genera. The index value of moss plant species in the Karangsari Reseach Station around 2,450.
